Hypoproteinemia

Hypoproteinemia is a condition where there is an abnormally low level of protein in the blood. There are several causes that all result in edema once serum protein levels fall below a certain threshold. [Source: Wikipedia ]

Acute diffuse fine reticular lung opacities
Ascites in an infant or child
Chronic nonobstructive small bowel distention
Diffuse bowel wall thickening
Edema of duodenum
Pleural effusion with normal lungs
Pulmonary edema
Regular thickening of small bowel folds
Small bowel wall thickening
Transudative pleural effusion
May Be Caused by
A-beta-lipoproteinemia
Budd-Chiari syndrome
Burn
Cirrhosis
Dysproteinemia
Intestinal lymphangiectasia
Kwashiorkor
Malnutrition
Nephrosis
